Austrian owner and managing director Thomas Krenn founded the company in Birgel, Germany, in 1988, initially focusing on producing snowboard bindings. Nearly thirty years later, SP Bindings remains popular, reflecting the enduring quality and appeal of their products.
The German facility is renowned for its expertise in tool design, toolmaking, and injection molding. Over the past two decades, this competence has positioned the company as a reliable supplier to the automotive industry.
Since 2002, products from SP CONNECT™, SP Bindings, and the action camera accessories brand SP Gadgets have been manufactured at a state-of-the-art plant in China. From there, these high-quality items are distributed to 70 countries across five continents.
The company's commitment to the highest quality standards is evident in their meticulous in-house production and the German know-how that ensures every product meets rigorous standards. The corporate headquarters, based in Vienna since the mid-90s, centralizes sales, product development, design, technology, marketing, and international sourcing for all SP brands.
